Welcome to Laleham Church of England Primary School

In Year 2 we work really hard but have lots of fun!  We learn about interesting people from the past such as Florence Nightingale and Samuel Pepys.  We also make things such as cars and glove puppets.  We enjoy reading Roald Dahl books and in the Summer Term we visit the Roald Dahl Gallery.  We are the oldest children in Key Stage 1 and we take it in turn to be 'Buddies'.  A 'Buddy' is someone who makes sure that everyone is happy at playtime.  If someone is on the 'Friendship Stop' the 'Buddy' will find them someone to play with.  At the end of the year we lead a Leavers' Service to say goodbye to Key Stage 1 and hello to Key Stage 2!

Making Glove Puppets

Year 2 have been busy designing and making felt glove puppets. First we looked at different kinds of puppets and drew diagrams. Then we thought about what we liked about the puppets we had seen and started thinking about our own puppets. We carefully designed our puppets and started sewing! Lots of us had never used a needle and thread before! We like our puppets and feel very proud of them. Do you like them?
